Constructed Landscapes: Impact on Physical Space and Bodily Experience

This paper develops a theoretical framework informed by critical cartography, power dynamics of subjugation and domination, ecocriticism, post-colonialism, and acts of resistance in order to examine landscapes as socially constructed spaces for the purpose of uncovering underlying ideologies, biases, traditions, etc. informing the construction of these spaces. The framework is then applied to a visual, digital, and physical constructed landscape to examine how the ideologies, traditions, biases, etc. impact the landscape itself and the bodies within those spaces.
