Association of Urinary Incontinence and Falls

Falls and urinary incontinence are major public health problems among older adults. Falls increase the risk of injury and mortality for elders in the United States. Falls lead to long-term physical disability, functional decline, and reduced quality of life. Urinary incontinence is a poorly understood risk factor for falls and is underdiagnosed and underreported by older adults.
