The Misuse of Technology in the Modern Classroom and a Guide for Solutions

The misuse of technology is becoming widespread in the modern classroom. The learning aid that has transformed the academic performance of many students is slowly turning into an addiction trap. The increase in technology distraction in learning institutions is alarming policymakers and teachers. Young learners are exposed to modern technologies ranging from smartphones to high-speed internet connections. While the technology platforms are priceless in transferring knowledge to the students, the channels are drastically taking over the minds of the young generation. Understanding the dynamics of the technology setbacks in the classroom and identifying possible remedies is imperative in putting technology into sound use. The project on technology misuse in the classroom and the guide for solutions dissects existing findings in an attempt to identify technology abuse trends. This project relies on recent publications to examine the perspectives of cultural diversity and socioeconomic factors in pinpointing possible solutions to the technology abuse. This project is inspired by the desire to create a remedy guide that can be applied in district schools to promote healthy use of technology.
